QuickBooks 2009 and Online Banking – Some Fixes
In prior posts about the new Online Banking feature (here and here) I talked about the problems with this feature in the initial 2009 release. I’m posting some information from Intuit about some updates they are making in December, as well as a link to a video they have produced. Note that these releases apply to the Windows versions only, at this time.
QuickBooks 2009 Release 4
This release will be available on December 11th as a manual update (www.quickbooks.com/support), and December 18th as an automatic update. This update will add:
- Quick Fill: You can start typing entry information, such as payee and account names, and QuickBooks will complete the information for you.
- Add New: Quickly add new names, accounts, and classes.
- Manual Match: View and select QuickBooks register entries to manually match the downloaded transaction.
QuickBooks 2009 Release 5
This update adds the ability to review and add multiple bank transactions at once. You can easily review, edit, and save downloaded transactions in a batch.
This release will be available on December 18th both as a manual and automatic update.
To see a preview of these updates you can see a video produced by Intuit.

I am still having problems with my online banking.
I can not match items even if they are in my register correct and my vendor list is completely missing.
I get error messages that I have to click out of 4 times to continue. I don’t know whether to back up and uninstall and reinstall, or it that will help.
Any ideas.
Thanks

Denise, there are a lot of people frustrated with this. Unfortunately, I don’t have any solutions. Reinstalling solves some problems in some places for some people (how’s that for being wishy-washy?), but I can’t say that it would fix anything for you. If you reinstall, make sure you update to the most current version (R5 at this time).
