I seem to be plagued with slowness since applying R8 - Enterprise Version 9 - 10 users (usually no more than 8 using the system at the same time). It is so slow that has the appearance of only allowing 1 sales order or invoice to be processed at a time, by that I mean everyone has to wait on each other - very very unproductive. Company file is 1.4 GB and the Log file is 400K. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Company file hosted on a Windows 2003 Server.

Debbie, the first thing to try is to download the MANUAL update from Intuit - I assume you are using the automatic update? Download the manual update and run that, see if it makes a difference.

I just downloaded the R8 update, but it won't install. It says it is installing but never gets past 0%. I have tried it twice so far and the last time I waited about a half hour without it doing anything. Now I'm stuck and QB will not start. Any suggestions?

Stacy, I don't have that problem on my system, so I don't have a firm answer. You might try renaming the QBPrint.qbp file and then restarting QuickBooks. This print file sometimes gets damaged and can then create problems. If you erase it you lose any special printer settings you make in QB, but QB will recreate the file if it is not found. This is one of those "try this, it might work" kinds of answers.

Take a look at this article from Intuit about renaming the file: http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Pages/KnowledgeBaseArticle/1006446

Let us know if that works...

The R8 update is preventing printing and will not allow printer setup to open. Any solutions? I am using Vista and printer works fine with other programs.
