QuickBooks 2018 R9 Released
Intuit has released QuickBooks 2018 R9, a maintenance release. This update should be available via automatic updates. You can also go to the QuickBooks Update site to download the patch.
The changes are:
- E-Invoicing: The E-invoicing workflow shows reminder to send your e-invoices after every 7th invoice that has been created. I haven’t seen this in action, but it seems like it could be an annoying feature if you can’t shut it off?
- Payroll:
- There is a simpler and faster procedure for signing up for QuickBooks Payroll subscriptions.
- There is a new payroll setup wizard that should make it easier to add employees, set up payroll, and get to the point where you can process your first payroll.
- TSheets Deep Integration: You can now integrate your TSheets account directly from withing QuickBooks with a new integration method, and you can set up a new TSheets account directly from withing QuickBooks. I have always been a fan of TSheets prior to the acquisition by Intuit, and I’m very happy to see that they are bringing some integration improvements to QuickBooks Desktop (rather than focusing just on QuickBooks Online integration).
If you don’t use TSheets, and don’t need a new QuickBooks Payroll account, there isn’t a lot of need for you to rush into this update. I’d wait awhile to make sure that it doesn’t have any “issues”. Just because I’m cautious.
