QuickBooks 2020 R10 for 1099 forms
Intuit has released QuickBooks 2020 R10, a small but important feature update that will help if you file 1099-MISCor 1099-NEC forms. This is the first of a wave of QuickBooks versions to be updated at the end of the year, I suspect.
This update should be available via automatic updates, as well as at the QuickBooks Update site.
- 1099 forms: This release adds support for 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC printing and e-filing. There also may be some changes to the QuickBooks SDK (programming interface for add-ons) so that third party applications can support these forms. If you file either of these forms, you need to install this update. If you aren’t familiar with the 1099-NEC Nonemployee Compensation form, see the IRS 1099-NEC page.
- Admin users can now request access for a Secondary Admin (Intuit account) role.
- If you are interested in using QuickBooks Payments this update provides an easier sign up process.
Not a lot of changes. If you file either of the 1099 forms you need this update. You might want to wait a week or so to make sure that the update is OK, but by this time updates rarely cause any problems (I don’t know of any, I’m just cautious).
