QuickBooks 2021 R14 Released

| May 15, 2023

Intuit has released QuickBooks 2021 R14. This includes payroll changes as well as some technical updates.

This update should be available via automatic updates. You can also go to the QuickBooks Update site to download the patch.

Changes for QuickBooks Payroll

There are several changes that relate to payroll:

  • If you are using QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll or Assisted Payroll, you will be able to access 401(k) retirement benefits to employees through Guideline 401(k) from within QuickBooks Desktop.
  • There is a revamped employee center, which will make it easier for you to feed required information to employees.

I suspect that there may be some other payroll related changes that Intuit just didn’t announce. Look at the payroll changes announced for QuickBooks 2022 R9.

Technical Changes in QuickBooks 2022 R9

  • QuickBooks Email (a subscription feature) is being upgraded to allow users to integrate with the OINP protocol, instead of TxE. This is a new, more secure integration method
  • A bug fix – QuickBooks Desktop will no longer close without an error message after selecting Receipt Management from the Vendors menu.
