QuickBooks 2009 Release R7
Intuit has released the R7 update to QuickBooks 2009 on March 23 - it is available via manual update. Automatic updates will probably be released later this week. This article was revised on 3/24/2009.
There are a number of changes with this release. Please note that I have not tested all of these changes at this time. I’ll point out some of the significant changes here – for a full list go to the update info page.
QuickBooks Online Banking – Interview and Updates
OK, I hope that this is my last blog posting specifically on the QuickBooks Online Banking feature for awhile. Two items today – a discussion with Greg Wright of Intuit on how they are dealing with the problems of this feature, and a preview of some of the changes coming out in the next update.
Shipping Costs and QuickBooks Inventory
What is the “cost” of an inventory item that you purchase? For many businesses we talk about the “landed cost” of the item, which can include not only the purchase cost of the item, but also the shipping cost of the item. In this article I’ll talk about a few ways to handle this in QuickBooks.
The landed cost of an item is usually considered to be the cost of the product plus any relevant logistics costs, such as transportation, warehousing, handling and so forth. The can also be called the total landed cost or net landed cost.
